I am completely amazed at how creative my children have become once I cut out any form of "lazy entertainment." They have spent hours playing together (and actually laughing and getting along!), inventing new games, and fun new things to do together.
Most recently, they pretended to be princes and princesses learning how to walk with heads held high. Each of them placed a book (or more) on their head and proceeded to walk around in a circle in the small space we have, until the book fell off. Even Maryanne joined in on the fun. And, she was absolutely adorable. Why is it that whenever a young child tries to emulate their older brothers or sisters, that they are so cute? Even when they are doing something they shouldn't (like spitting, or fighting back)? At any rate, I think I now have a handful of princes and princesses ... one for each digit. And, boy, is my hand full!
