Our Family Project

Every morning after her breakfast, my miss Nadine is the happiest. Usually this lasts for about 30 - 45 minutes, and then she gets tired. From that point on, it's all downhill. Don't get me wrong, she's not colicky or anything. I think, right now at 7-weeks-old, she just gets tired and hungry more as the day progresses. Either that, or we all get too busy and she doesn't get enough attention.  But in the morning, I like to sit and soak up her smiles and happiness. I want to appreciate this tender mercy, so I slow down and spend time enjoying Nadine and the cute little person she is.  And, I may be biased, but I think she's pretty cute. 

As personalities come, these two girls are like night and day. Both are silly at times, and both can be serious at times. And yet, that rarely happens at the same time! We have entered the world of teenagers, and it is quite the dramatic world! My oldest daughter is dealing with all the drama that teenagers bring: ostracism, judging, and feeling friendless. My younger teenager is just full of fun dramatics: silly faces and expressions, acting wonky and crazy, and saying that "everyone is my friend, even their mom and dad!" At any rate, I couldn't be more in love with these two. They fight over their littlest sister ("I get to hold her!"  "You've been hogging her all day!"), fight over who spends more time in the shower ("I do NOT spend an hour in the shower!"), and fight over who gets my MacBook ("She always gets to do her school on your computer!"  "But, all my stuff is on there!").  My world would be quite dramatical...

It's been a century since I posted last.  Well, at least it feels that long.  I'm probably not going to give any back stories ... just move forward because who wants to read about an entire year that is missing??? Last week we started what I thought was dog sitting for some friends while they went on the Stake Pioneer Trek as Ma & Pa in a family.  The husband brought over Daisy and I started to ask questions about how to care for her.  His response surprised me the most when he said, "We took a few obedience classes at PetSmart and they really were for us more than her.  I would suggest you do the same." Later I talked to Jon and found out that we were actually dog sitting as a trial period prior to possibly KEEPING Daisy! Sneaky, sneaky Jon.
