Our Family Project

The month of June was the busiest we've been in a long, long time.  Then, July came around and before I knew it, July was almost over!  We've had trip after trip ... including one to Puerto Rico (Jon went for work).  And, just when I thought things had settled down a little bit to let us enjoy our summer, we stumbled into the Arizona Family Home Educators Homeschool Convention, with school starting in two weeks!  It's been one crazy summer .... and I can't wait to get school started (another post coming on that one).  Anyway, here are few "travelogs" for you to peruse, just in case you've been wondering where we've been: Our New Backyard Hill Family Reunion The Grand Canyon  San Diego Werner Family Reunion

Over the Fourth of July Weekend, we went to Cedar City, Utah to be with my family.  My younger sister found a great vacation home to rent, and we all stayed there together.  It was a really fun time, while we were there.  On our drive there, our van died when we were in between Mesquite and Las Vegas, Nevada.  And, as anyone who has driven that stretch of I-15 knows ... there is nothing there!  It is basically just desert.  We had to wait on the side of the freeway in 111 degree weather ... without any water.  Yes, we aren't very good when we travel.  We dehydrate our children so we don't have to stop every hour.  So, we didn't have any water in our van.  But, my mom was following us in her car and she had coolers of water and snack.  So, we all piled into her car while we waited for the tow truck.  Quite a stressful part of our weekend (which will happily come to close around the end of July when our repaired van will be shipp...
