Our Family Project

Tonight for Adam's night he wanted to play "Red Light, Green Light." Well, that's a little hard to play with only two people (Jon was on the phone). So, Adam stood in front of the stairs a little ways off and I was the light. I'd say "green light" and he would start walking slowly, then stop before I said "red light." So, I started telling him that he need to run really fast when I said "green light." Then, he started hopping and said that he was supposed to hop when I say "blue light." So, I asked him what he's supposed to do for "yellow light," and "orange light," etc. Here's what he came up with: Red = stop Yellow = slow Blue = hop Green = run really fast Orange = zig zag hopping Purple = backwards walking The coolest part was when I would switch from one color to the next and he would immediate start doing the different movement! And, when he would start to get close I couldn't remember ...

Wow, we had a whirlwind of a trip two weeks ago. I'm still trying to recover. Here are just some of the highlights: Water Gun Fights at Grandma and Grandpa's Visiting with our Siblings Seeing Aunts and Uncles for the first time Playing with Nieces and Nephews Seeing our children's Great Grandparents Visiting with our children's Grandparents Playing with Cousins Bumper Boats Hiking to Grotto Falls Playing Rock Band And ... Stopping at the Mormon Trail Center on our way home It was a lot of fun to see everyone. There are so many of you missing from these pictures ... I wish I had taken more pictures; but, I wouldn't trade the time I spent with you instead of taking pictures. Thank you to all our family for making the time for us, and making it such a fun time!

I LOVE baby bath time photos! Seriously, I think I take it to an extreme sometimes. And, this little girl is such a bathing beauty, I couldn't pass up the opportunity.

What happens when you plant one small little viola plant? On the third year, the entire flower bed is filled to capacity. Bushes are overrun by the violas. And, wait ... make that all three flower beds are overrun with violas! At least they keep down the weeds.

I finished these projects two weeks ago while getting packed for our vacation. As I was packing I quickly realized that the backpacks we painted were too small for the children's coloring books and such. So, I spontaneously decided to make them bags that their books would fit into, and use their letter bags for their shoes (so their dirty shoes wouldn't get their clothes in their bags dirty). The best part about this project is that I used all materials that I had on hand. In fact, the denim came from a crib bumper I started to make 10 years ago when I found out I was pregnant with Eliza. A crib bumper I failed to finish ... so it finally got finished ... into these bags. The other fabrics were remnants I found. The bags turned out so much cuter than I envisioned, and I'm so glad I took the time to make them. This is the other project I'm pretty proud of. The children even helped! I took some remnant fleece and flannel I had around and made the children neck pillows....
