Last night for our family home evening lesson, Eliza talked about a children's art exhibit our church will be displaying within the next year. We talked about the different categories and themes for the art work, and then made our own family art exhibit. Each of us chose one of those themes and used the medium of our choice. Then, we taped them all to the wall.
Jon painted a temple, a horn, and the golden plates to symbolize the gospel being preached around the world.I drew a CTR shield with pastels. (Sorry, you'll have to see that one in the picture at the top.)
Adam also used pastels to depict a rainy day on a flower. (Again, in the picture at the top.)
And, Jon's favorite was a little something I painted and called: Indigo Naranja (pronounced like the Spanish word, naranja.)It was a great night, and so much fun just hanging out as a family. For one of the prayers that evening, Adam (or maybe it was Andrew) expressed gratitude that we are a big family. And, I was truly touched. Amid all of the hardships that we face because we are a large family, it really is such a blessing. I can't imagine having fewer children than we do; but, perhaps it's because they are each individuals and I can't imagine our family without each of them.
