On Memorial Day our scout troop had an auction. They sent around a sign up sheet for donations at least a month in advance. I signed up to bring reusable sandwich bags. Then, two Sundays before Memorial Day I crossed my name off because we had just decided to go over to my sister-in-law's house for the holiday. So, I figured we wouldn't be at the auction, so why contribute, right?
Then, we decided the day before Memorial Day to go to the auction. I felt awful for saying I'd contribute something, then saying I wouldn't, so I said I would again. But, as I told people that I would be contributing reusable sandwich bags, they all looked at me funny and said, "I have no idea what those are." So, I decided to contribute something that wouldn't take a lot of time to make, but is easily recognizable: Buttercup Bags. They went for $20 to a family with two little girls who carried them out. It was adorable to see them with the bags. I'm so glad I was able to contribute, even if it was just a little bit.
