Four of my children are going to school this year. For Eliza and Kate it's "old hat" by now. But, for Andrew and Adam it is all new. This is the first time Andrew gets to ride the bus, and the first time he has to be responsible for bringing his own milk to school. (All of my children are lactose intolerant, and while the school will provide lactose-free milk for them if given a doctor's note, they all prefer soy milk. So, when Eliza was in kindergarten I started sending a thermos of soy milk with her for snack time, and I have since done that with Kate, and now Andrew gets his turn.) This is the first time Adam is in preschool. Granted, it is a small "joy" preschool that two of my friends and I have started, but he's still excited to go to preschool everyday. (Although, he has a hard time waiting through the days he doesn't go.) I get to teach the preschool in two weeks and I'm nervous to teach, but I'm hopeful that I'll get the hang of it by the end of the school year.
It's been fun to get back into the "school routine." I actually love this routine, especially after summer. We've been much better about having our "morning devotionals" and getting to the bus stop on time. Two things that were extremely hard for me to do the last three years. The only stressful part has been this week when Andrew's bus has shown up at our house almost 10 minutes early the last two days. So, we've been rushing to get his shoes on and get him out the door. (Thankfully, his bus driver has waited for him. Kate's kindergarten bus driver wouldn't wait ... she'd just drive right on by if she didn't see Kate outside.)
Everyone has been doing well so far getting back into the swing of learning and doing homework. It really has been a breeze and feels like everyone has been in school for a very long time even though it's been only a week.

If nothing else, it's good for the child who is used to having older siblings around. :D
Hope it goes well!
